While our food is cooking, we’ll visit with Charlie for a wine tasting of his famous “Charlie Wine.”
After the class, we walk off our calories in the town of Sorrento. Enjoy some time on your own to shop around and pick up a few souvenirs. Sorrento has several pedestrian-only streets that beg to be explored, all lined with shops you’ll surely want to visit.
After Sorrento, we return to Amalfi for time some time on your own.
Today we visit an iconic winery on the slopes of Mt. Vesuvius. The wine, the cuisine and the area, there’s a thread that ties together the magic of this landscape at the foot of Vesuvius with its culinary traditions, and, above all, with the passion for Lacryma Christi, the wine that comes from this area.
Experience a unique blend of nature, local flavors, and the traditions of Vesuvius, starting with a walk through the vineyards to take in the scenic panorama embracing the Gulf of Naples, Sorrento, and the island of Capri. We then move on to visiting the wine cellars, where we will learn about the production methods as well as enjoy a wine tasting.
A visit to the Amalfi Coast without a stop at this iconic winery is simply not acceptable!
Today we visit the breathtaking “terrace of infinity.“ We step outside of Amalfi for part of the day and head towards the hilltop town of Ravello, famous for its stunning views of the Mediterranean, and the dramatic views below. We will visit two of the Amalfi Coast most famous villas, Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone. Now a 5* hotel, Villa Cimbrone is the crown jewel of Ravello. Dating back to the 11th century, the gardens offer perhaps the most memorable sight in all of the coast. Not for the faint of heart, the view is more than 1200 feet above the Mediterranean, making it a spectacular spot for pictures. The gardens of Villa Rufolo are also magical and we will also visit them during our time in Ravello.
A late lunch will be enjoyed on location as a group.
After some time Ravello, we head towards another jewel of the coast, Positano. Adored by the stars, and famous for its shops, Positano is waiting for you to discover it. Do some shopping, or grab a gelato or glass of chilled Prosecco and do what Italians do best, people-watch and comment on the fashion!
Today, you will have the day to enjoy as you please. Enjoy the beaches in Amalfi, walk the neighboring towns, take the ferry to Ischia, or perhaps make plans to visit Pompei, or simply spend some time locally and purchase some local artisanal souvenirs. Whatever you decide to do is up to you.
In the evening, we will enjoy a final celebration dinner.
All great things must come to an end. The week is sadly winding down and today, after our delicious last breakfast at the hotel, we will say good-bye to our new friends and our friendly hotel staff and check out.
